Being a true professional requires that we master our craft. It is the mission of the Mountain View Fire Protection District Training Division to provide the highest quality training and education to enable our members to perform competently, effectively, and safely, so that we may provide exceptional emergency services to our communities.  We aim to elevate the standard of excellence in training and inspire a high-performance environment by providing the employees the resources they need to maintain and enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

The Training Division has the responsibility to monitor the fire service standards and criteria established at the federal, state, and local levels and to implement training activities to ensure the department is well prepared. The development of training programs occurs through the research of new and innovative training practices, and a review of the departmental curriculum. The Training Division also collaborates with our regional partners by hosting local training events and bringing in subject matter experts to better share learning and build partnerships.
