View Fire Rescue 2022- present, Retired career firefighter 1993-2016 Mountain View Fire District,  Volunteer Firefighter Cherryvale/Rocky Mountain Fire District 1983-2000

My Past: I am a Colorado Native, raised in Boulder County and moved to Firestone area in 2000. I  have 32 years of fire service experience and 3 years as a Board Member. I started in the Fire  Service in 1983 with the former Cherryvale Fire District which is now Mountain View. I started with  Mountain View in 1990 as a reserve firefighter and was hired as a paid firefighter in 1993. When I  was hired as a career firefighter in 1995, there were a total of 12 paid firefighters, today there  are 160 career firefighters at Mountain View.

My Goals as a Director: Most important goal is to ensure the District employees are provided the tools, gear and equipment needed to make a dangerous job as safe as possible. Continue to be competitive in wages and benefits to attract new firefighters and retain our current staff. Ensure that tax payer dollars are spent with a well thought out plan. Ensure the District remains fiscally sound and transparent to our citizens and be open to seeking alternative  ways to support the budget. Ensure that the Board and all staff are accountable to their positions. I want to see the Fire District grow with our communities that we protect. Be proactive in  building new fire stations and staffing them to ensure coverage and response times are appro- priate.

Accomplishments As a Board Member 2022-2025

  • Increased staffing at Flagstaff station from 2 to 3 firefighters
  • Increased staffing at Niwot station from 3 to 5 firefighters

In closing, I have spent most of my life serving all of the communities within Mountain View Fire  Rescue boundaries. I have watched all the towns and communities grow to what they are to- day. I  have been very proud to continue serving all these communities as a Board Member of Mountain View  and it will be crucial for the Fire District to continue to grow with the community.
